Among the news that emerged today in Nintendo Direct, the live stream of the company focused on its portable video games, and also announced that Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King will not be made in time for its release date and now it will be delayed until 2017.
The Nintendo Direct today dedicated to the 3DS has also brought bad news, as well as many good news: Dragon Quest VIII was postponed to 2017, on a date not yet specified. The delay affects Europe and the US. In short, fans will have to wait a bit, unless you know the Japanese language (in Japan the game is already available for some time).
Nintendo has confirmed that Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King for 3DS will be available in Europe in early 2017, in retail and digital format downloadable from Nintendo eShop. This title for Nintendo 3DS was announced in 2016, but now Nintendo says that players will have to wait longer to lay their hands on this title.
In contrast, the remake of Dragon Quest VII itself met its release date and will be available this month, from September 16. It should be noted that both games are already found in Japanese stores.
In other recent news in this franchise, Square Enix recently confirmed that Dragon Quest X, the new installment of the series, will make its appearance on Nintendo NX, but the console is not yet officially revealed by Nintendo.
