Bandai Namco Entertainment made a stream recently, where it made important announcements. The most surprising for the Goku fans was the presentation of a teaser from the Dragon Ball Super movie.
In the preview, we can see Goku facing off against a mysterious character. Later we met his appearance thanks to the trailer of the Dragon Ball Legends mobile game. The only concrete thing so far is that this fighter will be designed by Akira Toriyama, creator of the series and “is a Saiyan from a time that’s not from Goku’s time.”
Also, we know that Frieza will be related in some way to the plot of the movie, which was written by the creator of the series. “The Dragon Ball Super movie this time around will be the next story that takes place after the anime that’s currently on TV,” Toriyama said last week. “The content will shed a little light on previously unexplored topics having to do with Frieza and the Saiyans, and I think it will be a very enjoyable story that serves up a long-awaited formidable opponent!”
Another detail is that Goku will have a new design after 20 years, looking to make him thinner. Due to these settings, Toei Animation said that the character will have several action scenes, something that was left aside in Dragon Ball Z: The Battle of the Gods and Dragon Ball Z: The Resurrection of Frieza.
The company announced that due to the success of the previous movies, Dragon Ball Super will premiere on December 14 this year simultaneously in several territories, such as Asia, Europe, and North America. The film will feature a script and character design by Toriyama. For his part, Tatsuya Nagamine will be the director, Naohiro Shintani will be in charge of the animation department and Kazuo Ogura will be the art director.
