Digital Foundry has tried to imagine what would happen if Nintendo decided to adapt to the trend of half-generation consoles inaugurated by PlayStation 4 Pro and Xbox One X, placing on the market a new model of Nintendo Switch Pro with higher performance.
Nintendo has not yet announced a revision of Switch and it is said that a “Mid Gen” console model is scheduled, all via Digital Foundry who has tried to speculate a similar scenario, practically unprecedented for the house of Kyoto.
In a new video posted at the end of this news, Richard Leadbetter tries to speculate the specifications of “Nintendo Switch Pro” imagining that a revision of the console can mount the NVIDIA Tegra 2 chip and in general more pumped hardware than the current one, so as to give consumers the possibility to choose among the basic model (presumably cheaper price) and the Pro model.
What do you think of the scenario described by Digital Foundry? Can Nintendo follow the “Mid Gen” upgrade path to extend Switch’s life while waiting to launch a completely new platform? Or will Switch not undergo changes during its entire commercial life?
