Deus Ex: Mankind Divided Crash on Startup Fix, Mouse Acceleration/Black Screen Solution, Low FPS/Stuttering Workaround, etc

The highly anticipated title of Deus Ex: Mankind Divided arrived this week to the PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One On PC, however, the game has suffered from some problems, which is already a familiar story for multi-platform games. In addition to errors and crashes, some users also were also unhappy with the bonus additional content presales.

Among the technical problems, players have complained of low frame per second rate, mouse acceleration that cannot be disabled, game crahes at startup, among other things. For some of these, the developer Eidos Montreal have released some possible ways to work around with the problems. A crash happens in a train station for example, can be avoided by running the game in windowed mode and turning off the audio subtitles.

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided Crash at Startup Fix –

First of all, you need to update your graphics card driver to the latest by visiting their official manufacturer’s website, that is, Nvidia or AMD. If the game still crashes, then disable any antivirus software or firewall and add game to the exception list in these security programs. Also disable all recording programs like Fraps, Afterburner or such. You can also try to play the game in Windowed mode, if it is constantly crashing at fullscreen mode.

Many players also reported that due to the day-one DLC downloading in the background, the game also crashes because of this issue. So, either let the DLC get downloaded onto your hard drive completely, or else uncheck it from the Steam client if you want to play the game. This way it will not conflict while you still play, once you close the game then download the dlc again.

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided Black Screen Solution –

There is a temporary fix for 21:9 black screen issue. Just install a software called ShiftWindow and run the game at windowed. After that alt tab out of the game, open the program and click on Grab and then select Deus Ex Mankind Divided. Just check mark fullscreen and ensure to choose the right monitor. Lastly, click on Trigger, that’s it.

Additionally, you can download Borderless Gaming and set the game to start in Windowed mode. This will force the game to run in fullscreen borderless mode and it will also properly hide the taskbar.

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided Low FPS Solution –

Disable MSAA by going into the display settings of the game to solve the low fps problem in Deus Ex: Mankind Divided. If this still doesn’t work then check that if the game is not using the onboard graphics of the motherboard. Just try to ensure that the game is actually running on your Nvidia or AMD GPU and not the dedicated Intel GPU.

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided Stuttering/Lag Fix –

Try to lower the shadows and other graphics settings in the game. If you are playing on AMD graphics card then disable Raptr from task manager and also any other intensive applications which might be running in the background. You should also try to set Tessellation mode to 8x/16x and Texture Filtering Quality to Performance in your latest Crimson edition Radeon program.

The game developers have acknowledged mouse acceleration problem in Deus Ex: Mankind Divided and will release a new patch to solve this issue. Try to verify the game cache and check if there is any patch/update available for this title that needs to be installed.

Other than that, you can try to increase the FOV by keeping the Sensitivity at or close to the 50% level. This way you would be able to get a good balance of movement turning and aiming down the sight Sensitivity. Or else keep FOV at 85% and Mouse Sensitivity at 25%, or FOV at 80% with 0 Mouse Sensitivity. Just keep on experimenting until the patch is released.

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided Performance Issues Troubleshooting –

To solve performance issues in this game, you could try updating your graphics card driver, turn off MSAA, turn off Contact Hardening Shadows and Keep Volumetric Lighting to on or off in game. If you are having 4GB GPU, then use settings upto High. Also use 1080p resolution and enable Exclusive Fullscreen mode.
