Destiny 2 and COD: WWII Are The Two Best-Selling Console Games of 2017 in North America

Great results for Call of Duty WWII and Destiny 2 as the two Activision titles were the best-selling console games of 2017 in North America. COD: WWII, in particular, has already surpassed one billion dollars worldwide.

Activision has reached the first and second position in the ranking of the best-selling console video games in North America this year (according to sales figures). Developed by Sledgehammer Games with the support of RavenSoftware, COD: WWII is already the best selling game among the titles of Call of Duty on the new generation consoles and the biggest digital console launch in the history of Activision Publishing. Call of Duty thus confirmed the world’s best-selling console franchise eight times out of nine in the past nine years.

Based on the data of units sold, Destiny 2 surpassed Destiny, which was the “biggest new video game IP launch in history” at the time. The highly acclaimed sequel is the first Activision title to be launched on Battle.net and is the biggest PC launch in the history of Activision Publishing.
