Yesterday, Hideo Kojima was present on stage at the Tokyo Game Show 2016, where he spoke about the technical aspect of Death Stranding, his first game as an independent title.
The agreement of Kojima Productions signed with Sony was announced last year, and at the last E3 in Los Angeles we could finally see a piece of what they have prepared. Under the name of Death Stranding, the new studio aims to provide an action game with online features.
During the Tokyo Game Show yesterday, Hideo Kojima has revealed new details about Death Stranding, the first project for Kojima Productions for PS4 and PC. To begin, Kojima said Death Stranding will support 4K and HDR on PlayStation 4 Pro. But nevertheless, the developer did not confirm if the resolution of the game will be native or scaling.
Afterwards, he explained what everyone already knows which game engine will be there, and said that although it is not available in the market, it belongs to a famous studio. So, Kojima Productions will use the engine as part of a technical cooperation, although it will reveal information later. Considering the technological tour of Kojima and Mark Cerny last year, chances are good that this is one of the engines of the first party studio of Sony.
In related information, Hideo Kojima said that Death Stranding could debut between 2018 and 2019. Moreover, apart from Norman Reedus, the title could involve Mads Mikkelsen, although nothing is confirmed for now.
