Tonight, during PlayStation Experience 2017, Hideo Kojima took the stage to talk about Death Stranding, giving important details.
To begin with, Kojima pointed out that the trailer of Death Stranding that was presented last night at The Game Awards 2017 was captured directly from PlayStation Pro and running at 4K. There are no precise details on this point because it could be the same technique used by Horizon: Zero Dawn to scale the image to 4K.
Also, the developer said that the scene where we see the character of Norman Reedus in the water is playable, at least internally, but he did not mention more.
On the other hand, the boss of PlayStation 4, Mark Cenry, was also present during the talk, adding that Death Stranding begins to make sense after playing between 4 and 5 hours. This means that Kojima already made a large part of the gameplay, which will undoubtedly be good news for those who are waiting for the game to arrive.
In the talk, Kojima spoke about his relationship with Andrew House, president of Sony Interactive Entertainment. He noted that although he received offers from many companies when he left Konami, his first goal was to preserve his creative freedom and work with someone who respected that decision. After talking for a while with House, he realized that he wanted to work for PlayStation.
Death Stranding still has no release date (Kojima refused to speak at this point during the conference) but will come at some point in the history of mankind to the Sony console.
