After confirming the first-person view in his game, Hideo Kojima continues to explain different facets of his next title, Death Stranding. On this occasion, the creative wanted to talk about his multiplayer feature and, for that, he used the Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse as an example.

During an interview with French Youtuber Julien Chièze, Kojima set out to explain how the online mode of Death Stranding was raised, where all players will be connected. And these were his words:

“The more you play the more you will notice that he isn’t the only one in this situation. At launch, there will probably be millions of people who will play and you will be CONNECTED to them USING SOMETHING…,” Kojima explained (via Reddit).

When asked about that “something,” Kojima added the following by outlining a comparison with the Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse movie: “It’s like Miles Morales in the Spider-Man Spider-Verse. Miles thinks he is the only Spider-Man, then different characters from different alternate dimensions also become Spider-Man and meet up, all of a sudden Miles is not alone! Of course DS will be different but it’s a clue towards what the game is about. Sorry but I really cant say anymore, is that ok?”

And this is all the director could say about it. Already at the time, Kojima pointed out that the movie created by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller had been able to stay engraved in his heart, declaring himself a fan of this acclaimed Spider-Man movie:

For now, yes, it seems that we will have to wait to try the game for ourselves to fully understand the operation of this mechanic.

Death Stranding will be available on November 8 on PS4. What do you think about the statements of Hideo Kojima? Let us know about your opinions in the comments below.
