Days Gone was planned to release originally in 2018; However, Sony decided to delay it by the beginning of 2019, specifically for February 22. If you were waiting for this time period, take into account that it will take even longer to launch, as the company confirmed a new delay.
From the PlayStation blog, Sony updated and confirmed the release date of several of its exclusives. Take into account that Days Gone was delayed a couple of months, now it will release on April 26, 2019.
According to the company, the additional time will allow Bend Studio to further refine the gaming experience for a successful launch. The publication does not mention it, but it is very likely that the delay is also due to a large number of launches that are for early next year.
So, the delay is to optimize the game and avoid the debut along with other important titles, including Anthem, just to give an example. With this, it is likely that in the coming months we will see a new trailer of Days Gone.
“Days Gone is an open-world action game set in the high-desert of the Pacific Northwest. Traversing harsh landscapes on their drifter bike, players must fight for resources as they attempt to survive broken roads, unpredictable weather, attacks from other human factions, infected wildlife and roaming Freakers — a brutal, dynamic world that is dangerous both day and night,” wrote the company.
The last gameplay we had of the new Bend Studio was presented at Tokyo Game Show 2018. It shows part of its open world, some basic mechanics and various threats that will pursue the protagonist Deacon St. John.
John Garvin, director of Bend Studio, recently stated that the narrative will have a fundamental role in the title and that soon they will give more details about it. For his part, the designer Eric Jensen commented that the game world will be dynamic and complex.
Days Gone will now release as an exclusive on PlayStation 4 on April 26, 2019.
