As reported by the miner Lance McDonald, in the Dark Souls 3 files some traces of a multiplayer mode called “Battle Royale” were found, although this has never been published in the complete game.
At the moment we do not know more information about the Battle Royale mode traced in the Dark Souls 3 files, apart from the fact that it would be a content related to multiplayer. The third installment of Hidetaka Miyazaki’s series wanted to include a game variant inspired by the popular genre popularized by PUBG and Fortnite? Maybe they thought of a PvP arena in which players will clash with each other until there was only one left alive?
Even more surprising is the fact that the development of Dark Souls 3 was conducted well before the explosion of popularity of Battle Royale, thanks to PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds launched last year and consolidated with Fortnite. Considering that in the end the content has never been included in the actual game, we wonder if FromSoftware is intending to include the Battle Royale mode in one of its next projects.
What do you think about it? Has the possible implementation of such a mode in Dark Souls 3 intrigued you? Recall that Dark Souls 3 can be purchased on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
