Cyberpunk 2077: Mike Pondsmith Will Play A Character In The Game
CD Projekt Red consulted Mike Pondsmith, the creator of Cyberpunk board game in which the Cyberpunk 2077 is based, throughout the development of the RPG title. As Pondsmith revealed in the latest issue of OXM, he will also be part of the game himself.
In that sense, Pondsmith stated the following: “I have a role. I actually recorded for one role, but they came up with a different one for me, but I can’t tell you much more than that. And I’m telling you that because there are a lot of fans who are going, ‘He better be in the game somewhere.’ So I’m in the game. I’m figuring what happens is, you know, at some point, [Johnny Silverhand] is playing his guitar and I’ll come out and play my bass.”
Pondsmith would not – or rather could not – share more details about his role, but it looks like he will have more than a special stint in Stan Lee style. As much as I would love to see his character play bass with Johnny Silverhand, it seems that making him a mission owner would be the way to go.
Among other things, Cyberpunk 2077 owes a lot of its world and narrative to Pondsmith, so putting it as someone who helps you explore this world seems appropriate. In any case, it will be nice to see the creator of Cyberpunk having a role in the game.
Cyberpunk 2077 will release on April 16 on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
