Cyberpunk 2077 was certainly one of the protagonists of the E3 2018 and, at the event, CD Projekt RED has finally revealed the game with a trailer. In the video, as you may have seen, flying cars appear, but if you were hoping to drive them, you will, unfortunately, be disappointed.

In an interview with the website Multiplayer, one of the authors of the game, Stanisław Swiecicki, during E3 2018 revealed this information. In that sense, Swiecicki stated the following: “Cars and motorbikes are the main ways to get around the city, but as you have also seen in the presentation, flying vehicles are an important part of the Cyberpunk 2077 imagery. It will happen that you can find yourself inside of them but, as far as driving them, it’s not possible at the moment.”

Although this is a relatively small detail, it may still be disappointing for someone to feel that CD Projekt RED will not allow this fantasy to be realized. Flying machines are a basic element in cyberpunk iconography and, probably, many would have liked to drive them.

However, as always, things could change. We’re not even sure what Swiecicki meant when he talked about using flying machines in the missions. Probably, we will be able to stand on one side while an artificial intelligence will drive the vehicle, which would be a good compromise.

In addition, the author discussed about the atmosphere of Night City, the city that will be the foundation to the adventure, uncovering that there will be a day/night cycle and variable climate conditions.

“We wanted to make you feel like an integral part of the city right from the first moment, and as in all the cities, day and night, we wanted to show players how we were able to recreate a dark and dystopian future, even in daylight.” When he was asked if the rain will be present in Cyberpunk 2077, Sviecicki replied: “Of course, there will be variable weather conditions.”

Cyberpunk 2077 is due for release on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
