Creative Assembly has announced that it is working on the next spin-off series of Total War. The game will come before the next regular episode, promising a very busy time for all fans of this strategic saga.
Creative Assembly still has much to do with the series of Total War. As announced today, in fact, the British development team is working on a spin-off series based on a historical theme.
In a post on Total War blog, Jack Lusted (Game Director) explains what fans can expect from this new class of Total War games. Based on previous titles, Total War Saga will focus on the crucial points of those eras, such as civil wars, the celebrated conquests, and the political upheavals.
Called Total War Saga, Creative Assembly did not want to reveal many details. “Sagas won’t be revolutionary new titles or introduce brand-new eras,” explains game director Jack Lusted. “They’ll follow-on from previous Total War games and inhabit the same time-period, or at the very least relate to it. But these are certainly Total War games. We’ll announce it properly in the next few months… and moves the [Rome 2 and Attila] period forward in much the same way.
“It’s great being able to build on and optimize the tech and the content from those games, like the work we did on Attila with Age of Charlemagne. Especially for a moment in history we’ve not spent enough time with yet as a studio.”
Taking aim and focus of the Fall of the Samurai, the first Total War Saga will continue to Rome 2 and Attila, presenting an exciting new challenge in a specific geographic area. Other details are not known at the time.
