CDPR Wants To Bring Cyberpunk 2077 on PS5 and Xbox Scarlett

This E3 2019 has been the scene where the public has been able to learn much more about Cyberpunk 2077, the next great work of the creators of The Witcher. The title announced its launch on PS4, Xbox One and PC for next year on April 16, 2020. But with the first PS5 data on the table and with the official announcement of Scarlett during the Microsoft conference, there are many voices wondering about a release on the next generation of consoles.

In that sense, Paweł Sasko, game designer of the game, has expressed his views in an interview with Eurogamer the desire to bring Cyberpunk 2077 to PS5 and Xbox Scarlett. The answer that Sasko has given to the question about whether they are interested in bringing the game to the next generation was very similar to the one they answered previously, although this time they added some very interesting information: “Right now we’re focusing on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One but obviously in the future we’d probably like to have Cyberpunk 2077 on the next platforms. But that’s really a matter for the future, to be honest. Right now we’re focusing on these.”

“One of the things we learned with The Witcher 3 was, you should not delay working on the console versions, ever. So at all times we have a version running for everything. And of course, the high-end version we’re showing running it is completely different to the consoles, the current-gen is starting to get old. So there’s some things which won’t look as crisp. But the important thing to us is it will be fluid, it will play on your machine. There are limitations for any given hardware, that’s a natural thing. But we’ll do everything we can to squeeze as much as we can.”

Sasko himself was also asked if he had the development kits for the next-gen consoles, and curiously answered that he could not say anything about it, which suggests that they do indeed have them.

Cyberpunk 2077 will release next year on April 16, 2020 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
