Cyberpunk 2077 for Nintendo Switch “Probably Not” Possible, CDPR Says
Although The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt did not reach Wii U, due to limited system technology, it will appear on Nintendo Switch. This makes fans think that Cyberpunk 2077 has a slight hope of having an adaptation to the hybrid console and recent comments from the developer do not rule out that possibility.
In an interview with GameSpot during PAX Australia, the head of the studio in Krakow, John Mamais was questioned about the odds of bringing Cyberpunk 2077 on Nintendo Switch and although he did not give the answer that Nintendo fans wanted to hear, since he did not confirm that they can work in the adaptation, but the positive thing is that he did not rule out such a possibility.
“Who would have thought a game like The Witcher 3 would be possible on Switch, so who knows? I guess we’ll see, if we decide to put it on the Switch, if we can do it. Probably not,” said John Mamais.
As you can tell, it is a neutral response, taking into account that the possibilities of carrying it have not yet been fully explored. Although, being honest, it seems a bit complicated if we consider that the map of Cyberpunk 2077 will be much denser than that of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. But the good news is that they take nothing for granted, and that, as John Mamais says, it may happen and the studio could surprise fans with the announcement.
Cyberpunk 2077 will be available in April next year on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC and Google STADIA.
