Cyberpunk 2077 has been the talk of the show during E3 2019 for various reasons, first for the potential of the title and for the trust placed in CD Projekt RED, but also because a true Hollywood icon has appeared on the stage: Keanu Reeves. We all remember the moment of “You are breathtaking” and the presentation of the character played by Reeves in the game. The question therefore is: will there be other surprises of this kind?
The answer came from Alvin Liu, spokesman for CD Projekt RED. Let’s see what he had said about more Hollywood actors set for the game: “I will say that CDPR is a video game company first and it’s very important to us that the match works. If it was a random celebrity that just wouldn’t work with our franchise, like Britney Spears or something, we wouldn’t pursue that opportunity. So for us, we pursue it because it’s a great match for the game and not necessarily because we want to accomplish some goal with reaching a different audience or anything like that.”
However, the interviewer insisted and explicitly asked whether Reeves was the only Hollywood star included in the cast. Liu then replied: “Uh… I can’t comment on that! You guys are going to have to wait and see.”
Such a comment does not fail to make us think that the possibility is more than possible. It should be noted that in a previous interview, Senior Level Designer Miles Tost had stated that Reeves had been the only actor taken into consideration: of course, if you want to surprise fans, you need to tell a few lies. Liu’s words also suggest that there is something to be discovered.
Cyberpunk 2077 will release on April 16, 2020 on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
