Capcom talks about 4K, HDR, Virtual Reality and different versions of Resident Evil 7
Capcom has revealed some new details about the resolutions and functions of Resident Evil 7 on different platforms, which launches on 24 January.
Capcom today released new details about the technical characteristics of Resident Evil VII Biohazard, revealing more information about the support for PlayStation VR, 4K and HDR.
The company says it will be a return to the origins of the saga, thanks to the new engine of RE engine that delivers great detail and recreational environments, thanks to the first-person perspective, causing more impact on players.
The version for PlayStation 4 is fully playable on PlayStation VR. In PlayStation VR, certain graphical aspects will be improved if they are also played on PS4 Pro.
Both PS4 and Xbox One S are compatible with HDR lighting, while that the resolution of 4K – Capcom does not specify whether it is native – will be available only on PS4 Pro. This is one game that takes advantage of the new model.
On PC, the game will be available on Steam and Windows Store, both supporting HDR and 4K. The version of Windows Store can share saved game with the version of Xbox One.
Resident Evil 7 follows in the footsteps of other scary games and takes the first-person perspective to give a new twist to the formula. There will still be fighting, puzzle solving and other classic elements of Resident Evil, and the story connects to the previous game.
Recall that Resident Evil VII Biohazard will be released on January 24, 2017 on all platforms mentioned, the PS4 version will be the only one with support for virtual reality.
