Yesterday, Activision announced the arrival of Call of Duty: WW2, the new iteration of the historical shooter series, this year in the hands of Sledgehammer developers dedicated to recreating World War II. No information, however, was widespread in respect of the game content, with a reveal fully expected for April 26.

In the last hours, however, it is a leak found online that there is to anticipate a significant amount of detail on the campaign title, and more. From the promotional material of a retailer unidentified, first we find out more information on the historic environment: “Call of Duty returns to its roots with Call of Duty: WWII–a breathtaking experience that redefines World War II for a new gaming generation. Land in Normandy on D-Day and battle across Europe through iconic locations in history’s most monumental war. Experience classic Call of Duty combat, the bonds of camaraderie, and the unforgiving nature of war against a global power throwing the world into tyranny.”

From the descriptions, we learn also that there will be a standalone story mode completely dedicated to the co-op, “Call of Duty: WWII’s co-operative mode unleashes a new and original story. Play with your friends in this next-level standalone game experience full of unexpected, adrenaline-pumping moments.”

Among other relevant information, we also find that, similarly to what happened with the latest headlines, pre-order of the game will grant access to a closed beta to be held before the final release. Please note that none of the findings has been officially confirmed by Activision and Sledgehammer. We look at this point the official reveal of the game at April 26 to find out more information.
