Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Won’t Have Loot Boxes, Infinity Ward Confirms

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is one of the most anticipated games of this month. The interest in the title of Infinity Ward and Activision is very high, especially after the beta testing phase.
Fans, however, were discouraged by recent rumors circulated by a well-known COD leaker, the TheGamingRevolution, which claimed that the developers want to implement a series of loot boxes in the shooter title, both for aesthetic elements and for weapons and equipment.

For the players, it was a real blow to the heart. However, it appears that the information is completely wrong. Through Reddit, a member of Infinity Ward briefly explained the question by stating that there are no plans for the inclusion of loot boxes within Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. No supply drops are planned.

“There continues to be misinformed and incorrect info being pushed about Modern Warfare. What I can say right now is that we are definitely NOT working on any kind of supply drop or loot box system. Also, functional stuff is unlocked through GAMEPLAY,” the representative said.

It is also explained that all gameplay objects will be unlocked by playing. Finally, it is said that there will be new information regarding the issue during the week. This little anticipation has become necessary, it seems, to silence the many rumors concerning the loot boxes.

There is nothing left for us to do but wait a few days to find out precisely what the plans of Infinity Ward are with the title. We also remind you that there will be no season passes, but all contents will be released free of charge by updating on all platforms simultaneously. Users of Reddit, in any case, fear that Activision will introduce loot boxes later.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will release on PS4, Xbox One and PC this October 25. In recent news, the list of weapons was leaked for the game, you can check it here.

Tell us, are you of the same opinion? Do you believe that at some point the developers will focus on microtransactions once again?
