As we reported on our pages a few hours ago, Destiny 2 will run at 30FPS on all consoles, including PlayStation 4 Pro. Some users were unhappy with this news, but Luke Smith of Bungie wanted to clarify the matter and has thus explained the reasons why you can not achieve 60FPS on the new console of Sony.

Destiny 2 will not run at 60fps on consoles, even on the most powerful console currently in circulation, the PS4 Pro.

“It will not run at 60 on the Pro. I don’t want people to continue to hope, we’re going to be matter-of-fact about that stuff,” was the statement given by the game director, Luke Smith, speaking to IGN.

“The PS4 Pro is super-powerful, but it couldn’t run our game at 60. Our game’s this rich physics simulation, with collision and players, networking etc. It wouldn’t run – not enough horsepower there yet,” Smith further added.

Mark Noseworthy added that in terms of GPU there is a lot of power and this is why the title will run 4K. It is a CPU problem. The simulation of Destiny – have more AI, more monsters in a setting with physically simulated vehicles, characters and vehicles – which is part of its magic.

Destiny 2 will be release on September 8 for PC, PS4 and Xbox One. As stated today by Bungie, at present there is no plan to bring the MMO shooter on Nintendo Switch.
