Borderlands 3 Won’t Have Cross-Play At Launch

0 117

Pure good news from Gearbox, as developers of the much expected Borderlands 3, and its CEO, Randy Pitchford, expects the crossplay to be a feature that will come after the release of the game.

In case you do not remember, the official Twitter account of Borderlands tweeted an announcement last week that an event called “Celebration of Togetherness” would be arriving today, from which we could learn more details on the official website of the game. With this began the wave of rumors and speculation, especially around cross-play, which some games have been implementing lately. Unfortunately, it was not like that, but not everything is lost since Pitchford has given his statement on the matter:

“Some folks may be speculating that this thing tomorrow may be about cross play. Tomorrow’s thing is awesome, but *not* about cross-play. But, Good News: We are committed to supporting cross-play for Borderlands 3 with our partners as soon as practicable after launch,” Pitchford stated.

“To be clear, there will not be any cross-play functionality in Borderlands 3 at launch as we work closely with our partners to create a positive cross-play experience as soon as practicable. We are committed to cross-play on as many platforms as possible,” Pitchford declared.

I guess that’s better than nothing, right? We will have to wait for more information about this function.
