Bluepoint Director Hints at The Legend of Dragoon Remaster Coming Soon?
According to a Tweet, Bluepoint Games would like to work on a reissue of the role-playing game The Legend of Dragoon. In recent years, the Texas developer has made a name for itself with various successful remastered versions.
Among the most famous names were the Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection, Shadow of the Colossus and Gravity Rush Remastered for PlayStation 4. As Bluepoint Games’ Peter Dalton confirmed via Twitter, the studio is interested in the new edition of another classic title. We’re talking about the Japanese role-playing game The Legend of Dragoon, which was released in 1999 for the original PlayStation.
Of course, it should be remembered that we are dealing here only with a wish of Peter Dalton. As an official announcement of the project Dalton’s statements should not be understood. The Legend of Dragoon was developed at the time by the SCE Japan Studios. The producer was Shuhei Yoshida, who now the President of Sony Interactive Entertainment Worldwide Studios.
Especially in North America, the RPG enjoyed great popularity. As Shuhei Yoshida confirmed in 2012, a successor was already in development. However, the sequel was discontinued for unspecified reasons in the pre-production phase.
Currently, the developers of Bluepoint Games are working on a previously unmentioned remaster. Recently, it was speculated that we might have a remake to From Software’s iconic Demon’s Souls cult. The whole thing has not been officially confirmed so far.
I love “The Legend of Dragoon”. Perhaps it should be a project?
