To celebrate the 20th anniversary of Diablo with great fanfare, Blizzard re-create parts of the first installment of the series in Diablo III. The studio shared this news in context of the opening ceremony of BlizzCon 2016.
Diablo series is undoubtedly one of the most beloved franchises of Blizzard. It is also one of the studio’s oldest works, something that Blizzard now wants to celebrate when it stands and knocks on the door.
According to Blizzard, the content of Diablo Original will reach in Diablo III with a patch to be called Darkening of Tristram which “will take you back to the depths of the Cathedral”. As per Frank Pearce, director of development of Blizzard, he said that this update will offer 16 levels of a dungeon where you will face the 4 main heads of Diablo.
For fans of the old school they will not feel out of place, as Blizzard will add visual filters for this adventure of Diablo III to look like the original title. Also, the characters can only move in 8 directions, as in Diablo.
Pearce said itt will be a very similar to the first experience of Diablo, and even will be available to all characters, their creators recommend that you play with a new character. Darkening of Tristram will hit the Public Test Realm of Diablo III next week, so will you play it again?
