Blizzard is working for an unannounced New Overwatch Project

Blizzard recently released a new job announcement for artists looking to join the current team to work on a mysterious project not yet announced but seemingly linked to the world of Overwatch.
The artists in question must create artwork and sketches, as well as outline the graphics and art style of the project along with Blizzard. There are no other details about it but the company asks among the requirements also a vast “knowledge and understanding of the Overwatch universe.”
“An unannounced project at Blizzard is seeking an intern to help create a wide range of assets to help bring our game to life. You will work closely with our concept, environment and character teams to create a hard surface and organic props, weapons and possibly characters that are both detail-oriented and consistent with the art style we’ve defined,” the job offer states.
It should not surprise us that Blizzard wants to expand the Overwatch universe because, with the solid base of players it has, it is natural to see them capitalizing the franchise on other platforms or genres.
The announcement does not go too far and so it is hard to imagine anything else at the moment, but the project seems to be still in the early stages, so it is likely that short-term news will arrive soon.
Overwatch’s success is so thunderous that it’s no wonder Blizzard wants to continue with the title as one of its key sagas. Who knows, just like this year’s Blizzcon we will have some more information.
