Watch Dogs 2 – which should arrive before April 2017 – may have a new protagonist, at least that is what points to the caption of a photo published by an actor in his account at Instagram.

Watch Dogs 2's Lead Character

Sighted by the website NerdLeaks, the image in question was posted by actor Cort King that shows a character wearing glasses, bandana on his face, with the caption “Had a blast doing motion capture work as the lead character in a new video game series!” Followed by the hashtag #WatchDogs2

Since then, King has put his account private on Instagram, but a cached version still shows the photo.

There is a chance that King meant a new important character is going to appear rather than a replacement for Aiden Pearce, the protagonist of the first Watch Dogs. That said, the creative director of the franchise, Jonathan Morin said earlier that Ubisoft “would take risks” with the continuation.

Earlier, in a Ubisoft’s financial report, the company says it plans to release Watch Dogs 2 to April 30, 2017, a date that represents the end of the current fiscal year.

According to ancient rumors, it may be that Watch Dogs 2 is going to be released later in 2016, as the “major release of the year” for Ubisoft, that confirmed it will not launch a new game from the main franchise of Assassin’s Creed this year. It is worth remembering that in April 2015, a LinkedIn profile of one of the developers of the first Watch Dogs indicated that a sequel is already in development.

Watch Dogs was released in 2014 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC.
