After Titanfall 2, Respawn Entertainment would release more games in the series. In an interview with IGN, the CEO Vince Zampella said that although there are no plans to make a trilogy, but they would like to expand the franchise.
“We don’t have necessarily a trilogy in mind. You always hope when you create something that it’s embraced and that people will love it for generations to come,” Zampella said, “[but] I hope we do more of it,” adding: “I would like to see the universe live on. I think it’s very expandable. I think there’s a lot we can do with it. There’s a lot of great ideas floating around here [at Respawn] that I would love to see come to life.”
Moreover, the executive said that currently the studio is also busy with mobile titles of Titanfall. Frontline, the first one, is a free-to-play card game for iOS and Android, which will release this year thanks to a partnership with Nexon.
Additionally, the interviewer asked Zampella if the first Titanfall will arrive sometime on PlayStation 4. “Don’t count on it. I believe we are limited in our ability to do that,” he said. Which is understandable since Microsoft is the distributor of the game.
Titanfall 2 will arrive on October 28 for Xbox One, PC and PS4.
