Shin Megami Tensei V Officially Coming to Nintendo Switch
As scheduled, ATLUS revealed some details of its Shin Megami Tensei HD project. This title was presented during the official revelation of Switch; however, we did not know much about this new JRPG. This year marks the 25th anniversary of the franchise, so the company prepared a big surprise for all fans of the series.
As part of the thinking community, this project is nothing more and nothing less than Shin Megami Tensei V. At the moment, the title does not yet have a confirmed release date. Nor do we know if it will reach other platforms because at the moment it is only programmed to reach Switch.
Like the previous major installments, this fifth game will be held in Tokyo, a city that is besieged and destroyed by demons. For the revelation of Shin Megami Tensei V, ATLUS shared a small trailer that gives us an advance of what we will see in the game.
The video shows two young students walking through a train station. Subsequently, we see several locations of Tokyo totally destroyed and some fallen demons. In the end, both students are attacked and killed by the creatures.
At the end, we see the boy’s arms rise and cover in a shower of petals. If you remember, these elements we saw was present in the title teaser. The roses are apparently related to Odin, who probably relives or helps this student.
As part of the anniversary celebration of the series, ATLUS will also launch Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey Redux on 3DS. This title is a review of the original DS game that will arrive in our region in 2018.
To promote this title in Japan, the company released for free Shin Megami Tensei: Synchronicity Prologue for PC. This game is a metroidvania starring Jack Frost and Jack O’Lantern.
