Windows Central has discovered a patent of Microsoft filed last March (but made public only in the last few days), the patent in question relates to a system of interchangeable triggers for the Xbox controller.
The next Xbox One Elite controllers could have a new version, completely innovative with removable and customizable triggers based on the kind of title played. A patent called “Game controller with removable Trigger accessory” in March this year had been filed by Microsoft. This project should represent the new version of the Elite Controller.
Although the patent does not certify the existence of a product, according to some rumors the new version of the Elite Controller of Microsoft may include the possibility of replacing the standard triggers with others of different type with different forms, dimensions and characteristics to adapt to various styles of game.
To conclude the Elite Controller future seems to be the same as the standard version, with the only addition of these special triggers that provide a great customization also depending on the style of play used.
We reiterate that at the moment the existence of the patent is confirmed, however it is still early to say whether the idea will find space in a future joypad or not.
