i used the solution for direct function “HR1” error. Now i get blackscreen and the error: DirectX function “Dx11renderer::tryMap” failed…
Alt + Enter isn’t doing anything and it doesn’t matter if i start the game with administrative rights or not or in origin or from the desktop.
    Can anybody help?

    • Ricador

mine too, i’m waiting for help too…

    • Ricador

did you find a solution for that? i’m stuck with this one…and that’s not what you expect from a game that you bought…

    • zarek

I read that need for speed is not supporting older graphic boards than NVIDIA GTX 750 Ti 2 GB or AMD Radeon HD 7850 2 GB, but i cant imagine that…
Another thing is that the new crimson driver 16.3.1 from amd which is especially for need for speed isnt supporting older graphic boards as well…
So if you got an older graphic board you might not be able to play need for speed.

I have a radeon r9 280x Toxic, and I keep getting directX errors. I’m perplexed, because my wife has a similar build to me and I can run the game on her PC with no problem.. My build has MB ASUS M5A99FX PRO R2.0 AM3+, Hers is GIGABYTE GA-970A-UD3P (rev. 2.0) AM3+, but we both have AMD Visheras, mine is AMD FX-9590 Vishera 8-Core 4.7 GHz Socket AM3+ , and hers is AMD FX-8350 Black Edition Vishera 8-Core 4.0 GHz (4.2 GHz Turbo) Socket AM3+, also I have a SAPPHIRE Radeon R9 280X Toxic graphics card, and hers is GIGABYTE Radeon R9 280… Also, both 32Gb Ram…

I’ve even tried upgrading the card firmware for both computers and it had no effect. Both systems are using Windows 10 x64 OS, with the latest Crimson drivers. Yet, hers runs the game without crashes and mine crashes on load.

Well, did you try updating DirectX to the latest version, it should be available for installation it the game’s folder or you can get that directly from microsoft website. Also, try to disable antivirus software while playing the game or put an exception to the game’s exe file in any security program that you are using in your build.

      • Luke Seymour

Yes, sir. I usually have an aptitude for troubleshooting these things. but I am genuinely perplexed. Also, I must clarify as “crashes on load” may be vague and misleading. I am able to start the game and enter the garage. I can perform functions in the garage, but when I choose to leave the garage, it loads for approximately a minute and then just freezes up.

I just changed the graphics settings to window mode and it finished loading but froze after starting the animation of the car coming out.
