EA Sports has confirmed that NBA Live 18 will support PlayStation 4 Pro and Xbox One X, leveraging the extra power of the two consoles. In addition, the series could make its debut on Nintendo Switch over the next few years.
“The enhanced visuals are obviously taking advantage of the power of both systems; that will be where we focus most of our energy. Both systems, with their improved visuals and the power and capacity that they both have, is something we are looking at taking advantage of for sure,” says the publisher, announcing that NBA Live 18 will enjoy improved graphics on PS4 Pro and Xbox One.
With regard to Switch, EA Sports has confirmed that the Nintendo console will be taken seriously into future chapters of the series: “Potentially, yes. For this year, we are focusing on X1 and PS4, but that will be a focus for NBA Live.”
If you’re curious to try the game first-hand, please note that the free demo of NBA Live 18 is currently available for PS4 and Xbox One. In addition to being able to play a quick match between Cleveland Cavaliers and Golden State Warriors, the demo will be able to test The Rise, the prologue of career mode called The One announced at last E3.
All the achievements in live demo events will not be lost once the full game is released, which will be released on September 15th.
The release also includes the cover of the Xbox One release, which reveals this year’s cover of the athlete: James Harden of the Houston Rockets.
