Halo 3 not coming to PC, according to 343 Industries

Last week rumors began about the arrival of a supposed Halo 3 Anniversary, which would not only be available on consoles, but also on PC. 343 Industries decided to talk about the issue and stop all the rumors, mentioning that they are not working on this title and that there are no plans to bring the game to PC.

The statement was made by the community manager of 343 Industries, Brian Jarrard, known as ske7ch in the subreddit of Halo, who said that the studio is far from working in a remastering of Halo 3.

“I’ve been here just about 6 months now and haven’t ever heard of one single mention of Halo 3 coming to Steam nor Halo 3 anniversary being made,” he said. “In fact, it’s been completely debunked multiple times over. Sorry to say but there’s no plans nor any work underway to make this happen. (though personally I can’t deny it would be sweet).”

The rumor came when AMD used a Halo 3 illustration during an event to promote its new hardware. However, it seems that everything was a mistake or simply the image was used to get the attention of the users.

Although last year we saw an alleged video of Halo 3 Anniversary, it is clear that it was a false material, because the studio has been energetic in saying that they are not working on a similar project. On the other hand, we expect some kind of celebration, because this year marks the 10th anniversary of the game.

For now, all is not lost, as 343 Industries is likely to be holding a surprise for E3 2017, whether it’s related to Halo 3 or some other franchise title they’re working on, such as Halo 6 or some spin- Off.

Fortunately PC gamers can find some franchise titles, such as Halo 5: Forge, Halo Wars 2 and the recently announced Halo Wars: Definitive Edition, which will be available on Steam.
