Guillermo del Toro: Kojima Will Show Death Stranding Gameplay In A Couple of Weeks

Interviewed recently by IGN, the director Guillermo del Toro spoke of the good relationship that links him to Hideo Kojima and how the two are in perfect harmony not only with work but also with private life.

Death Stranding, at this time, is one of the major mysterious titles in the current video game industry. Since its first appearance in the E3 over a year ago, the new and visionary video game of Hideo Kojima has only appeared in two intriguing and mysterious trailers, but so far fans have not yet seen any gameplay or known the release date of the exclusive game of the Kojima Productions.

In these times, however, one of the most prominent profiles involved in the project – that is Guillermo del Toro, a famous film director who is shown as a character in Death Stranding – has unveiled important novelties about the game.

Apparently, Toro will be able to see the first gameplay of the title within a couple of weeks. The visionary director, who collaborates with Kojima along with other famous Hollywood faces such as Norman Reedus and Mads Mikkelsen, spoke to the IGN about the game, accentuating the fact that the Japanese director has total creative control over the IP and that his contribution will be purely actorial – as has already been emphasized in other previous interviews:

“It’s been great as a friendship, and it’s been great as a learning experience. In Death Stranding I’m just a puppet. I don’t know what he’s gonna make me do. He’s supposedly going to show me the gameplay at some point in the next couple of weeks. My most rewarding experience was to know him and help him realize P.T., which never happened on Silent Hills. I’ve seen some of our concepts crop out in other games. And I don’t know if that’s an accident, or if it’s a coincidence, or what it is. But it’s very nice to see that what we were going to try was doable.”

The gameplay of Death Stranding will be submitted to Guillermo del Toro by the end of November. On December 8, the Sony conference at PlayStation Experience 2017 will be held and it may be the right occasion to reveal to the world the first build of the very production by Hideo Kojima.
