Cliff Bleszinski explains why LawBreakers is not coming on Xbox One

Lawbreakers is the new big bet of Cliff Bleszinski, a well-known designer who participated in the creation of the Gears of War saga and that will be launched in August on PS4 and PC. Why there is not an edition for Xbox One? The project manager explained this in a recent interview with IGN.


“Xbox fanboys got really salty at me on Twitter, like, ‘It’s like you’re turning your back on the box that built your career with Gears. And I’m like, not necessarily, because my first priority to me is my employees. I have 65 employees, many of whom have families, and I need to keep the lights on,” Bleszinski says.

Bleszinski links the decision not to launch Lawbreakers on Xbox One to a matter of resources: “When we looked at the fact that we could only ship on one console initially, PlayStation has the huge install base.”

The designer says that this “doesn’t mean that we can’t do an Xbox version later, or Xbox XOXO, or whatever they’re calling it these days,” but at the moment they had to make a decision according to the real possibilities of their new studio, BossKey Productions, to market their first project in the market.

Therefore, although the title has not been officially announced, owners of an Xbox One still have the possibility of receiving the unprecedented production of one of the most influential sagas of the seventh generation.

Lawbreakers is a multiplayer team action game with heroes, each with their own special abilities and game styles, and focused on franticism and the use of gravity for matches.
