CD Projekt Red already now worth more than $2 billion

As part of its recent financial report for the first half of 2017, the Polish studio CD Projekt RED revealed that its market value amounts to $2.3 billion, demonstrating its rise as a company thanks to the success of the series of games The Witcher, especially its third part, and its online platform of GOG.com.

In the financial report of CD Projekt RED, where it was also revealed that the production costs of its next game Cyberpunk 2077 have increased, the company reported that it has now reaped the success that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has had, along with its expansions Heart of Stone and Blood & Wine, and its online game sales and distribution platform of GOG.com, which already has 2100 titles.

However, although the numbers are surprising, they are below what the company recorded last year. That is, while in its recent CD Projekt RED financial report it made gains of $40.2 million USD and income of $71.52 million USD, there is a contrast with last year’s amounts in the same time period where it made gains of $46.2 million USD and income of $90.2 million USD.

In addition, CD Projekt RED reported that they will continue to work to make Gwent: The Witcher Card Game one of the top esports, especially in China, where they even opened an office in Shanghai to support the competitive gameplay scene and their video games.

The software house’s situation is more than rosy and we are looking forward to being able to try out the long-awaited Cyberpunk 2077. What do you think about the important achievement of the Polish team?

witcher 3 was great, spent a few months playing it on ps4.

their game engine was fantastic. 3 years later, with 500% more knowledge and knowing how to throw all that repetitive ‘s*it’, as grass, sunflowers, etc to the gpgpu, along many other stuff and optimizations, they will easily be able to create huge open worlds, with a ton of things going on, with the same level of detail, or even better, than a Horizon zero dawn game or uncharted.

witcher 3 looked absolutely amazing, but there were very few action on screen at the same time. there were never more than 4-5 enemies at once.

i hope their next game will have a ton of enemies and npcs on screen at the same time.
