A mysterious countdown has started on the official site of Duke Nukem, where a message celebrating the 20th anniversary of Duke Nukem 3D is also shown and promises that something will happen “soon”.

New Duke Nukem

Through social networks, the publishing house of Gearbox Publishing, community and communication managers of the license of Duke Nukem have just done an advert for the twenty year history of the franchise. No details have filtered but a countdown gives us an appointment in a few days.

In small print, the page indicates that the announcement will be related to the brand of Balls of Steel, and as well as the developer and distributor Gearbox. Some believe that the company will unveil a new game or maybe re-release old installments of the series.

For now, the fact is that the page of Duke Nukem on Facebook has revived after four years of inactivity while on Twitter the game has a new official account. The countdown will end on September 1, so we’ll have more information soon.

Hoping that all this makes us forget the terrible misfortune of Duke Nukem Forever released in 2011 on PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. It was considered one of the worst title that had proved a bitter disappointment for the fans.

Lara Croft, Crash Bandicoot, Duke Nukem, etc; they all arrived on our consoles in 1996 and they all celebrate their 20th anniversary this year. We know that Tomb Raider will return in a special edition of Rise of the Tomb Raider on PS4 on October 11. As for Crash, it will make a comeback in the upcoming Skylanders Imaginators on October 13, 2016.
